Liz Moreno Chuquen is an assistant professor in the Department of Global Studies and Languages at the Idaho State University where she teaches Critical Theory, Latin American Film and Literature, and Advanced Composition in Spanish to undergraduate and graduate students. She earned her Ph.D. in Latin American Literatures and Cultures from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2019 with distinguished dissertation project on the cultural production of Afroporteños from 19th to 21st century. She has been invited to present her research at the University of Pittsburgh and the Afro-Latin American Research Institute at the Hutchins Center (ALARI) at Harvard University. She specializes in Afro-Latin American Studies and Visual Culture. Specifically, her current research project deals with the intersection between race, space, official and non-official archives, museum exhibitions, and cultural production of and about Afro-descendants in Argentina and Colombia.
