Janailson Macêdo Luiz is a PhD candidate on Social History from the University of São Paulo and Assistant Professor at the Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará. In his doctoral research, he investigates the participation of Afrodescendants in the Araguaia Guerrilla (1972-1974), addressing the history of afro-descendants in the Brazilian Amazon in the context of the Military Dictatorship. The research receives support through a grant from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
