Edward Shore is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at the University of Texas-Austin and a 2017-2018 Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Fellow. His dissertation examines the long standing struggles of the black peasantry over land, natural resources, and autonomy in Brazil.
