Mariela Noles Cotito is a Professor of Discrimination and Public Policy at the Universidad del PacĂ­fico in Lima, Peru.

Her research portfolio spans critical areas, including gender equality, social inclusion policies within the Peruvian context, and the intricate intersections of various systems of oppression shedding light on how they place different segments of society beyond the protective ambit of the law. In her current research endeavors, she is exploring the efficacy of ethnoracial legislation in promoting and safeguarding the rights of Afrodescendants in Peru.

Professor Noles Cotito holds a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania, and dual MA degrees in Latin American Studies and in Political Science from the University of South Florida. As a result, her approach to research and scholarship combines legal expertise with a policy-focused analysis and insights from the social sciences.
