Mariana Abreu is a PhD Candidate at the Sociology Department of the University of Brasília, in Brazil. Her work focuses on Sociological Theory, Cultural Studies and Black Feminist Thought. Currently, her research investigates the theorization processes of Brazilian women’s rap. She concentrates specially on the affordances employed in their work to produce knowledge regarding themes such as sexuality, aesthetics, the body, financial independence, the rap scene and intersectionality.
