Luz Marina Bacerra

Luz Marina Becerra, orginally from Condoto (Choco), is a social worker with a specialization in management. She is the president of La COMADRE, and currently lives in Bogotá. Luz has through the war of the armed conflict and suffered many humiliations of her body. She also has had relatives disappeared in the context of the armed conflict. She has been in this fight for the rights of black women and children for more than 26 years. She serves as their voice. Her role in the organization is to connect women to resources (jobs and support). She also uses this approach with the relevant entities to create policies, which favor black women. Thus, her role is political, to help the comadres grow.
