Hanayrá Negreiros de Oliveira Pereira is a fashion scholar and curator, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in History at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), where she researches the dress practices of Black women in nineteenth-century Brazil. Her doctoral research is supported by CNPq – Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico [The National Council for Scientific and Technological Development] (Brazil). She holds a master’s degree in Science of Religion from the same institution and a bachelor’s degree in Fashion from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. Her work focuses on the history of dress within the African diaspora in Brazil, with particular attention to intersections between fashion and the visual arts, including photography, religious practices, and family memory. She has experience in education, museums, art history, and Afro-Brazilian cultures.
