						Claire Maass is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Stanford University. Her dissertation examines histories of the African diaspora and enslavement in colonial Peru, and their significance to descendant communities today. This work draws on her broader research interests, which include African diaspora archaeology, community-engaged research, Afro-Peruvian movements, and cultural heritage politics in Peru.
