Andrew Walker is a PhD Candidate in History at the University of Michigan. His dissertation examines property ownership and the transition to Haitian rule in Santo Domingo. In addition to his doctoral research, he is currently working on an interdisciplinary research project that reconsiders the origins of three Creole languages.
