
Ana Carolina Assumpção is a Journalist and doctorate student at the University of Texas at Austin, where she also obtain a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies. Her work focuses on Race and Feminist Geopolitics studies. In addition, she researches community collectives and Black women’s organizations in Rio’s favelas and how they resist police brutality and state anti-blackness policies. At UT Austin, she was chair of the Student Association and, in addition, produced cultural events that discussed Racism and Brazilian politics. She is part of Black women collectives and worked as curator and producer of artistic events directed to public schools in Rio de Janeiro.
