Her research focuses on migration flows, culture, identity, Mexican nation-building, minority rights and multiculturalism. She is currently writing her PhD dissertation in Law and Political Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Specifically, she is studying the emergence of the Afro-Mexican mobilization in the Costa Chica of Guerrero and Oaxaca, Mexico.
