Alejandra Rosa (she/hers/they/them). Afro-queer non binary writer, performer and poet born in Puerto Rico. Nieta of doña Sarah, and the daughter of a baker. Her writing on Puerto Rico’s recovery to Hurricane Maria occupied eight frontpages of The New York Times. Her storytelling centers on black and queer decolonial experiences. Rosa’s work has been published in Africa, the U.S. and the Caribbean in platforms that include Time Magazine, The New York Times, Revista Étnica & 80grados. Currently, as an African and African American Studies PhD Student at Harvard University, Rosa researches non traditional Puerto Rican afro-queer performance.
