The Afro-Latin American Research Institute (ALARI) at the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, Harvard University, has received renewed support from the Ford Foundation to sustain the University Consortium on Afro-Latin American Studies. The $1.3 million grant is the second installment of a total $3 million grant to promote Afro-Latin American Studies globally.
The University Consortium fosters international collaboration, research exchanges, translated publications, and innovative curricula. In the last three years, it has trained a new generation of scholars through postdoctoral fellowships, seminars, conferences, and workshops, while building a continental platform for global dialogues on race, equity, and social justice.
The Consortium includes research groups from:

Mexico (INAH and UNAM)
