She is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the Federal University of Paraiba – Brazil, and recipient of a CAPES scholarship from the Brazilian government. Her research interests involve areas such as poverty, social inequality, class, and morality, and her Ph.D. research focuses on understanding how Brazilian urban poor construct symbolic boundaries and moral judgments among themselves and between them and other social groups.
