Marcelo Ferraro

As a historian, he has been researching on slavery in the nineteenth century since he was an undergrad student, in 2012. Since then, Ihe developed my masters on the relation between architecture and slavery in Brazil (Parahyba Valley, the coffee zone from the countryside of Rio de Janeiro Province), when he got in touch with criminal reports and changed his interest towards punishment and slavery. Since 2014 he analyzed those sources and they became essential to his PhD research (2017) on liberalism, penal law, punishment and slavery in Brazil, in the United States (Cuba will be included in the future).
